TimeSplitters series could return
Monday, June 27, 2011
In an interview with, Now Gamer, the co-founder of Crytek, Avni Yerli, has stated that they are currently thinking about what they could do with the TimeSplitters series but unfortunately, they have no concrete plans as of yet. When asked about, plans to re-release the original games in HD, Aveni replied that "That’s a good idea! There are indeed a lot of games doing it but we haven’t thought about that yet. But it’s a good idea..."TimeSplitters was a first person shooter, created by Free Radical Design(Now Crytek UK), in 2000 for the Playstation 2. This was followed by two more games released on the xbox, PS2 and Gamecube. In 2007, it was announced that a fourth game was in development but following the inquisition of Free Radical, by Crytek, in 2009, all plans were put on hold.
It was rumoured last month, that TimeSplitters 4 was in development for next generation consoles, such as the next Xbox or Playstation. Crytek have denied these rumours.
